Founder and Lead Instructor
Benjamin Plassman is a dynamic voice in the world of economics, blending real-world experience with a passion for simplifying complex economic ideas. As a business executive and financial consultant, Ben has spent years advising city governments and healthcare organizations on economic and financial strategies. His deep understanding of financial systems, coupled with his practical approach, has earned him a reputation for cutting through jargon and getting to the heart of the matter.
A Northwest Ohio native, Ben earned his Bachelor's Degree from Bowling Green State University and later completing graduate studies in Finance at the University of Toledo.
Dr. Tawni Hunt Ferrarini
Tawni Hunt Ferrarini is an economist, educator, and author who serves as a member of the Missouri State Board of Education, having been nominated by the governor in 2024. In addition, she is a faculty scholar with the Fraser Institute (Canada), the Council on Economic Education (Japan), the Mackinac Center for Public Policy (Michigan), and the Center for Regional Economic Research at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. Until May 2024, she was the associate director of the Hammond Institute for Free Enterprise, the director of the Economic Education Center, and the Robert W. Plaster Professor of Economic Education at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.
Nicole Bachaud
Nicole Bachaud is an economist and spokesperson specializing in housing and equity. As a Senior Housing Economist at Zillow, she led research on housing affordability, racial disparities, and climate impacts on the housing market, informing policy changes and public discourse. Nicole’s work has influenced local and national policy, particularly in fair lending and housing access. She holds a MicroMasters in Data, Economics, and Development Policy from MITx and two Bachelor’s in Development Economics and Global Development from Seattle Pacific University. Nicole is passionate about using data to promote equitable economic growth and financial inclusion.
